Finnosummit 2024: Innovation and Resilience in Fintech

Together with Mastercard, we had the opportunity to bring Fuckup Nights for the second consecutive year to Finnosummit 2024, the largest event for the Fintech community in Latin America.

Finnosummit annually brings together the best companies in the financial technology sector, entrepreneurs, investors and leaders in the financial field.

During this meeting, attendees heard three stories of Fintech entrepreneurs, who not only shared their failures but also opened the door to critical and transformative dialogues.

On stage, our speakers had a space to be vulnerable and show themselves as human beings in front of more than 200 Fintech and Banking executives, sharing their story of entrepreneurial failure.

The Art of Pivoting in Business

This year, the focus was on the crucial skill of knowing how far to pivot in business, a common dilemma for many entrepreneurs.

‍We often hear the question, "How do I know when it's time to give up and start over?"

The speakers told us how crucial it is:

  • Surround ourselves with people who are willing to challenge us with different perspectives.
  • Actively listen to them.
  • Do not decide from the fear of being wrong, that is, let's decide from abundance and opportunity, not from the scarcity mentality.

In addition, they shared their challenges, failures and personal experiences, promoting an open and sincere space for dialogue and learning. Revealing the moments in their lives that marked turning points in their businesses, and renewed their strategic direction.

The collaboration between Finnosummit and Fuckup Nights has proven over the years to be a catalyst for establishing crucial conversations that drive change within the Fintech community.

By providing a safe space to discuss and learn from failures, a culture of resilience and adaptability is promoted, fostering more humane and meaningful connections.

We close with the words of Pedro Moura, at our event:

‍Let's belike children again, and practice every day the ability to fall down and get up, to do things differently, learning and evolving along the way.‍
‍Ifwe don't have the ability to get back up, we probably won't have the courage to try.
